On 18 July, the #WinningTeams at Rio in Klerksdorp embarked on their Mandela Day project for 2024. Mandela Day is the annual global celebration that takes place on 18 July to honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. This day is a call to action for all individuals, communities, and organisations to take time to reflect on Mandela's values and principles and to make a positive impact in their own communities, for a minimum of 67 minutes.

As always, the #WinningTeam were out in force to help make a difference in their communities. Rio and SAPS once again partnered in spreading positive change and changing lives. By renovating Hatabutle Primary School's Kitchen and Toilets in Khuma. They also did a soup drive at Jacaranda and Rethabile Old Age Home, Klerksdorp Disability, as well as donated cleaning equipment, detergents, including old clothes.
